Executive Assistant and Operations Manager

Isabelle Simpson is Executive Assistant and Operations Manager at BoxOne Ventures.

She joined BoxOne after obtaining her Ph.D. in Geography from McGill University. Isabelle has won SSHRC and FRQSC doctoral scholarships, a Wolfe Fellowship in Science and Technology Literacy, and multiple research awards. From September 2019 to March 2020, she was a visiting researcher in the Department of People and Technology at Roskilde University, Denmark. Isabelle has been invited to present her work to academic and public audiences in Canada, the United States, Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia, and she has been quoted in The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, and NBC News.

Isabelle also holds a Bachelor's degree (with distinction) in Liberal Arts from Concordia University, and a Master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Concordia University. Her doctoral research examined projects to develop “start-up societies” and "crypto cities" financed and governed by venture investors. She is particularly interested in fintech, the tokenization of all things, foresight studies, and geopolitics.
